This Daily Behavior Increases Health Risks Dramatically
Hey! I hope you’re having a great day!
Chances are pretty good that you are reading this article while sitting down. I’m willing to bet that by the end of it you will want to stand up.
In a culture that is so heavily influenced by televisions, cars and computers, it seems that sitting is a necessary and even a desired way to posture ourselves in order to do what we want to do.
It is no surprise at all that things like back pain, neck pain and joint pain are worsened by sitting. Just the other day I spoke with two of my clients who mentioned that prolonged sitting is the primary thing that causes their symptoms to flare up. With less sitting, they feel much better. I’ve noticed this too over the past few months since I have been doing a lot more writing on the computer than usual. The days I sit a lot, I’m much more stiff.
But could it also be harming our body in ways we can’t even fully perceive until it’s too late? Studies are saying yes.
Studies are now showing that cardiovascular and neurological problems are worsened by sitting.
In fact, sitting for just 6 hours a day can increase your risk of developing these problems and your risk of dying from these problems by HUGE amounts.

Now it is true that most of us cannot completely avoid sitting altogether but for the sake of your back, neck, joints, heart, brain and other organs, try to limit your sitting to only a few hours day.
Also be sure to get up for 5 minutes within every hour that you are sitting, studies show this can help negate SOME of the negative effects of sitting.
