The First Step to Reducing Inflammation

Today I want to talk about the first critical step towards lowering your Ph and therefore lowering your level of inflammation- consuming alkaline water.

The Ph scale is a scale that measures the acidity or alkalinity of something as compared to a neutral reference. The scale typically goes from 0-14 with 7.4 being deemed “neutral”.

When our body becomes acidic, it begins to display a Ph that is lower than the neutral point. When this happens, our body fights to keep the Ph at a neutral primarily by releasing stored minerals like calcium into the blood stream to help create a chemical balance to the blood that returns it to a more neutral Ph.  This calcium theft by the way, is one of the primary ways we develop osteoporosis because most of it comes directly out of our bones.

While your body is in this acidic state, cell damage and aging get accelerated.  This cell damage leads to physical problems and diseases.  To offset this acidity, we should consume alkalinized water, which will not only hydrate us and give us the tremendous health benefits of water, but it will also give us more of what we need to balance our Ph level so that the cell damage is reduced.

Most alkaline water filters do two things- they filter out contaminants in water and they remineralize the water so that the Ph goes up.  You might be surprised to hear that the majority of non alkaline water filtration systems actually make your water MORE acidic because they filter out trace minerals that raise the Ph.

Most bottled waters also have this problem with the addition of also having trace particles of plastic in the water from the bottle itself, which can cause a host of problems on its own.

Your best bet is to invest in an alkaline water filtration device for your home and fill up an aluminum bottle with this water when you leave the house for any long length of time.  That way you won’t have to rely on acidic water sources when you’re not at home.

Once you do this consistently for a few weeks, check your Ph again and see how it has changed.  My bet is that you will see and feel a difference once your Ph gets more neutral.

If you are experiencing any particular physical problem, you may also notice a substantial change in it as well. There is a Medical Doctor who practices in the Orlando area who has seen tens of thousands of patients and written about 40 different books on natural remedies for various health ailments.  He says that consuming 8 glasses of alkaline water each day is what he has each of his patients do before anything else and he says that about 75% of them have a noticeable change in their symptoms just from that alone, regardless of what their ailment is.

Pretty powerful.

Be on the lookout for the next installment in this series where I will talk more about more ways to lower our acidity and our inflammation.

Happy drinking!

Chris
