When You’ve Tried Everything Else..

If you’ve been reading my stuff for a while, you’ve probably gathered that I’m a big believer in putting in time and effort into making our bodies healthy.  This is because our body is designed in a way that requires us to be diligent with behaviors such as exercise, healthy eating, hydration, sleep and therapy in order for it to feel good and work well.  Now although doing these things makes a world of difference, even with the best lifestyle possible there are still some health problems that are beyond what we can change through our own efforts.

I was reminded of one such example of this over the weekend when I attended our churches’ annual retreat at Wekiwa Springs State Park.  A good friend of mine named Naya was there who was born with a genetic abnormality that caused her to be blind in her left eye.  Naya lived with this problem all her life, and since her doctors never gave her any hope for a solution, she just accepted it and coped the best way she could.

Four years ago, Naya came to Wekiwa Springs seeking to have a time of refreshment and renewal.  During the morning worship, there was a time where we all prayed for each other, and Naya asked a friend of hers to pray for her sore throat.  When she did, God decided to show up and heal her eye that had been blind for 33 years instead!

I was in the room when it happened too.  It was AMAZING!

Within days Naya’s miracle was medically verified by her doctor of over 10 years.  The doctor even wrote on her exam note- “patient was healed at a Christian retreat.”  The following year Naya’s story was featured on National TV and was featured again the year after. Now, four years later, her vision is still nearly 20/20!

It truly was a miracle of Biblical proportions!

Since I just saw her, and since her story has to do with health and is super encouraging, I wanted to share it with you today.   Here is a video of Naya sharing her amazing testimony shortly after the healing happened.  I’ve seen it like 10 times, and I get moved by it every time.  Check it out and tell me what you think. Click here- Naya Toledo Explains How God Healed Her Blind Eye
